Yes. Candidates must carry four (4) recent passport-size photographs with a white background.
Fee payment can be made through NEFT/RTGS to the designated University bank account or via the online payment gateway through Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI and Net Banking. Cash payments are not accepted.
Personal medical insurance is not mandatory, though it is preferred. The University provides group medical insurance coverage to students after completion of the admission process, with a sum insured of up to Rs. 2,00,000 per student.
Yes. Personal presence of the candidate is mandatory at the time of document verification. Candidates must report in person with all original documents and photocopies for verification as per the schedule notified by the University.

The academic session for the batch 2026-27 will commence in First Week of August. In case of any change in the schedule, the same will be notified through official email and the University website.
Yes. The University strictly follows the attendance requirements prescribed by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University's academic regulations. Students are required to maintain the minimum attendance as mandated, failing which they may not be permitted to appear in examinations. However, the University allows certain relaxations on genuine grounds such as medical conditions, mental health concerns, and participation in curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities, subject to approval by the competent authority and as per University rules.
Candidates who have already taken admission and paid fees at another university are advised to follow the withdrawal and refund policy of the concerned institution. Dharmashastra National Law University shall not be responsible for any refund or adjustment of fees paid to another university. Candidates must independently complete all formalities with the previous institution before confirming admission at DNLU.
Candidates seeking to withdraw their admission and claim a refund must follow the procedure available on the University ERP Admissions Portal after payment of fees. Refunds shall be processed strictly in accordance with University rules and UGC guidelines, as applicable.
No. Currently, there is no provision for NRI seats at Dharmashastra National Law University.
Yes. The entire University campus is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi internet connectivity with a bandwidth of 1.5 Gbps for academic and research purposes. There is no usage capping for students. However, access to certain websites is restricted through the University firewall in accordance with institutional policies relating to piracy, obscenity, and other prohibited content.
Dharmashastra National Law University provides separate hostels for boys and girls within the campus. Hostel rooms are allotted on a twin-sharing basis and are adequately furnished with beds, cupboards, study tables, chairs, and fans to ensure a comfortable living environment. The hostels are equipped with the following facilities:

The University strives to provide a safe, disciplined, and student-friendly residential environment for all residents.
Yes. The University has a dedicated dispensary on campus where a qualified doctor is available daily from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A full-time nurse resides on campus to provide immediate medical assistance whenever required. The University also maintains an ambulance with dedicated drivers available 24x7 for emergency visits to nearby hospitals. In addition, to support students' mental well-being, the University provides access to a 24x7 confidential mental health support application.
The University provides well-maintained hostel mess facilities for students. Each hostel has a separate dining hall for boys and girls. Meals are served on a self-service basis and the University ensures that four nutritious meals are provided daily, maintaining proper quality and hygiene standards. In addition, food joints are available within the campus where students may purchase food items on a payment basis.
No. Appointment of a local guardian is not mandatory for admission to the University hostel. However, parents/guardians must ensure that correct and active contact details are provided at the time of admission, preferably their WhatsApp mobile numbers and email addresses, to facilitate effective communication by the University.
No. Parents/guardians are not permitted to stay in hostel rooms or any residential facilities within the University campus. Only enrolled students are allowed to reside in the hostels, in accordance with University rules.
No. Hostel rooms are allotted randomly by the University to ensure fairness and transparency. Students are required to accept the room allotment made by the University and comply with hostel regulations.
Yes. Students may order food from outside in case of necessity, subject to compliance with the hostel rules and regulations prescribed by the University.
Yes. The University provides both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options, ensuring separate preparation and service in accordance with established dietary standards.
Students may purchase daily necessities through standard e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms that offer same-day delivery services. Additionally, retail shops are available within a 1 km radius of the University campus for essential purchases. The University also arranges a weekly bus facility to nearby marketplaces and D-Mart to enable students to procure their daily needs and essentials conveniently.
The Dharmashastra National Law University Library offers a growing and comprehensive collection of academic resources, including textbooks, reference books, bare acts, national and international journals, online databases, and e-resources. The library houses approximately 4,000 titles and 700 bare acts, along with reputed journals that are updated regularly. The reference section includes legal encyclopaedias, dictionaries, law commission reports, indexes, and legal lexicons. Library services include circulation, reference assistance, inter-library loan, bibliographic support, press clippings, photocopying, and publication exchange facilities. Students are provided liberal access to library resources to support academic and research needs.
The University, through its Placement and Internship Cell, regularly circulates internship and placement opportunities to students across various sectors, including:

Students also receive opportunities for assessment internships and Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) from various organizations, particularly during their fourth and fifth years of study.
Dharmashastra National Law University maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. The campus is strictly ragging-free. The University has constituted Anti-Ragging Committees and Squads in accordance with UGC and Supreme Court guidelines. Any incident of ragging is dealt with strict disciplinary action, including suspension, expulsion, and legal proceedings, as applicable. Students are encouraged to report any instance of ragging immediately to the concerned authorities to ensure a safe and secure campus environment.
Students can avail themselves of various scholarships offered by the Madhya Pradesh State Government, other State Governments, and the Central Government of India, subject to eligibility criteria. Under the Madhya Pradesh State Government, the following scholarships are available:

The campus is situated in a Cantonment Area and can be accessed only through Hoshiar Singh Gate or Manekshaw Gate. Students and parents must carry a valid ID card and wear a helmet while entering the area.
Yes. The University will conduct a formal onboarding programme prior to the commencement of the academic session. The programme will orient students about the academic framework, administrative procedures, code of conduct, and institutional rules and processes. Yes. Students must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate in the prescribed University format obtained from a Registered Medical Practitioner, certifying: personal examination; good mental and physical health; and no serious medical condition affecting studies.
Original medical reports and fitness certificate must be submitted at the time of document verification. Failure to submit may result in delay or cancellation of admission.
