Hon’ble Shri Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva

Hon’ble Shri Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva was born on 26th December 1964 in Delhi. He completed his schooling in commerce from Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, in 1982 and graduated with a B.Com (Hons.) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, in 1985. He earned his LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, in 1988 and was enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi on 1st August 1988.
Justice Sachdeva practiced before the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, and District Courts of Delhi. In 1995, he qualified as an Advocate-on-Record of the Supreme Court of India, securing second position in the examination. In 1992, he was awarded the British Council Scholarship to attend the Commonwealth Young Lawyers Course at the University of London, during which he also trained with solicitors and barristers in England.
He served as Standing Counsel for the Bar Council of India for over twenty years and was a Senior Panel Counsel for the Union of India for more than a decade. He has also played a significant role in advocacy training, having been a lead trainer under the Indo–British Advocacy Skills Project and conducting programmes for advocates across several High Courts in India.
Designated as a Senior Advocate by the Delhi High Court in 2011, he was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court in April 2013 and became a Permanent Judge in March 2015. He was transferred to the Madhya Pradesh High Court in May 2024 and appointed as the Acting Chief Justice with effect from 24th May 2025 under Article 223 of the Constitution of India.
