Bio

Dr. Sankalp Singh is an Assistant Professor of Law at Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur (M.P.). He has completed his early education till Intermediate with First Division and Distinction in several subjects from the Boys’ High School and College, Prayagraj established in 1861, governed by the C.I.S.C.E. New Delhi. Afterwards, from the Faculty of Law, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj where legal education is being consistently imparted since 1872, he completed B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Five Year Integrated Course with First Division, Distinction and Third Position, Two Years LL.M. Course in First Division, First Position with Four Gold Medals and was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Law on his Thesis entitled, “Sentencing Policy in India With Special Reference To Capital Punishment: A Socio-Legal Study”. He has also been conferred with the Young Jurist Award, 2020 on Human Rights Day (10th December 2020) by D.C.D.M. Trust and R.S.W. Foundation for his overall excellent performance in the legal domain. Throughout his study English has been the medium of instruction. He has a keen interest in the innovative study and research work in the area of law to deal with the complexities of challenging issues faced by the socio-legal setup of the nation and has a cherished goal to enrich the legal domain through his earnest academic efforts.
