Dr. V.S. Gigimon

Associate Professor of Law and H.O.D.

Dr. V S Gigimon has completed B.A.L, LL.B. (Five Years Integrated Course) from the University of Kerala, 2003 and LL.M. in the year 2006 from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur and PhD from Chanakya National Law University, Patna in the year 2017. He has a total experience of 12 years in different institutions as Lecturer in Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, Patiala, Assistant Professor (Law) in School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore, Assistant Professor Garden City College of Law, Bangalore, Assistant Professor, IBA-CLE Chair, National Law School of India University, Bangalore and as Assistant Professor and Registrar in Bar Council of Kerala MKN Academy for Continuing Legal Education, Kochi. He was also an Expert Member of Legal Education Committee of University Grant Commission – Committee on Transforming Legal Education. He has participated and organized a few International and National Moot Court Competitions and Seminars. He has also presented papers and actively participated in many international and national training programmes, workshops and seminars. He was working with Prof. N R MadhavaMenon in successfully organizing professional development training programmes for lawyers and law teachers in various parts of India under the banner of Continuing Legal Education. His areas of interests are Alternatives Disputes Resolution, Consumer Protection, Torts Law and Human Rights Law. He has published many articles in the journals and books of repute. He has also travelled to countries like Srilanka, UK (London), Turkey and Hong Kong to present papers on various topics of Law. He is also member in number of organizations like, Commonwealth Legal Education Association Asia-India Chapter, Forum of South Asian Clinical Law Teachers, Goa, Menon Institute of Legal Advocacy Training, Trivandrum, and Global Alliance for Justice Education, USA etc. 

Dr Jalaj Goantiya

Assistant Professor of Political Science and Proctor

Dr. Jalaj Goantiya has completed B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from St. Aloysius College, Jabalpur and Ph.D. from Rani Durgawati University, Jabalpur in 2009 on "India-China relationship". He has qualified M.P. SLET in 2004 and UGC-NET in 2017. He has also completed LL.B. and M.B.A. to develop comprehensive understanding in the field of Law and Management. He has more then 16 year teaching experience at both UG and PG level in various eminent institutions of Jabalpur as St. Aloysius College , Rani Durgawati University, and Mata Gujri Women's College. He has also served from the capacity of various administrative positions as Proctor, Registrar, Examination Controller, etc. To his credit, there are  15 publications at National and International level in reputed journals. Besides this he has completed UGC sponsored Minor Research Project on Status of Women Rights in Madhya Pradesh and actively involved in the certificate course in Human Rights under the UGC sponsored scheme for Human Rights Education. His area of specialization is Human Right, International Relations and Indian Polity.

Dr. Vinay Kumar Singh

Assistant Professor of English

Dr. Vinay Kumar Singh, Ph.D. in English (University of Lucknow, Lucknow), M.Phil in Linguistics and Phonetics (The EFL University, Hyderabad, Lucknow campus) and M.A. in English Literature (BHU, Varanasi) has the teaching experience of more than ten years. Teaching and learning is his passion and to prolong this passion in the field of language teaching and skills training by judicious application of contemporary practical methods is the motive of his teaching. His area of interests include Applied and Forensic Linguistics, Film Study, Postcolonial Study, Language and Literature teaching and training, and Soft skills. He is actively associated with developing course materials and training modules for English language and career oriented programmes for professional courses. He has presented 17 research papers in various national and international seminars and conferences and actively participated in many training programmes, FDPs, and workshops. He has published eight research papers in International peer-reviewed journals and one chapter in an edited book.

Deeplaxmi Chile

Assistant Professor of Sociology

Mrs.Deeplaxmi Chile has completed M.A in English Literature from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. She also completed her M.A in Sociology from RDVV Jabalpur, recently she is pursuing PH. D in Sociology from RDVV Jabalpur.Her area of specialization is Criminology, Social psychology, Sociology of law and Industrial Sociology. She also has an experience in teaching for more than a year in Sociology in Mata Gujri College. She has a profound knowledge of Sociology.

Utkarsh Kumar Mishra

Assistant Professor of Law

Utkarsh K. Mishra is Assistant Professor of Law at DNLU. He is an alumnus of NLU, Odisha from where he pursued B.A (Economics), LL. B (Hons.). He did his LL.M from National Law University, Jodhpur with specialization in International Trade and International Investment Laws. He has qualified UGC NET in Law and prior to joining this University, Utkarsh was teaching at HPNLU, Shimla as an Assistant Lecturer where he taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate level for more than a year. Prior to that, He worked at CUTS International, Jaipur in the Centre for International Trade, Economics and Environment as a Research Associate (Law). Utkarsh is a recipient of Nani A. Palkiwala Memorial Gold Medal and Milon Kumar Bannerjee Gold Medal for securing First position in all streams of his post graduate studies as well in his area of specialization respectively.  He has been also recently awarded with the ‘Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum 2017 Trade Facilitation Innovation Award’ by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific for his co-authored innovation proposal on Trade Facilitation. He has published articles and research papers in both offline and online journals to his credit and has attended several national and international conferences. His areas of research and teaching interests include International Trade Laws, International Investment Laws, International Commercial Arbitration, Legal Methods, Jurisprudence, Critical Legal Studies, ADR, Labour Laws and Sports Law. At DNLU, he is also the Faculty-in-charge of the Internship Cell. Apart from his academic interests, listening to Hindustani Classical and singing remain his deepest passions. He currently teaches Law of Contracts, Legal Methods at UG level and Law and Social Transformation at PG level.

Srishti D. Soni

Assistant Professor of Law

Srishti D. Soni has done B.A, LL. B from New Law College, Pune and LL.M. from Amity University, Lucknow. She worked as Lecturer at Hitkarini Law College, Jabalpur in the past and is currently pursuing PhD from Rani Durgawati University, Jabalpur. A UGC NET qualified, Mrs. Soni's area of specialisation is Constitutional Law. She has been a Gold Medalist at her college and participated in many International and National Moot Court Competitions. She has published papers and attended National seminars. As a student, she has organised many academic events in her college and would now like to train her students for same and pass on all the knowledge she has acquired over the years.

Ashutosh Singh

Assistant Professor of Law

Mr. Ashutosh is Assistant Professor of Law at DNLU. He has completed his B.A. LL. B from H.N.B. Garhwal University and LL.M. from Banaras Hindu University with Constitution and Administrative Law as his areas of specialization. Mr. Ashutosh has qualified UGC-NET in Law. Ashutosh has attended Conferences, Seminars and has Research Publications to his credit. Prior to joining this University, he was practising as an advocate in the Allahabad High Court and has a practice experience of 2 years in the areas of Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Taxation etc. His academic teaching pedagogy caters to a combination of theoretical understanding of the subject and practical application of the same. His areas of research and teaching interests include Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Civil and Criminal Procedure, Post Modern Legal Studies, Critical Legal Studies, Comparative Constitutional Law, Global Administrative Law etc.  At DNLU, he is also the Faculty-in-charge of the Moot Court Society. Apart from his academic interests, he takes immense interests in playing and organizing sports events, seminars and conferences. He currently teaches Legal Methods at UG Level and Constitutional Law and Criminal Law specialization papers at PG level.

Asmita Jataria

Assistant Professor of History

Ms. AsmitaJataria did her BA (Hons) in History from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. She then completed her M.A in History from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.  Her area of specialization is Modern History. She believes in collaborative forms of learning, teaching and researching.  Her area of interest lies in ‘Partition of India’, its causes and consequences, refugees, borders, minorities and migration. She is a creative and passionate teacher dedicated to fostering a student-centred classroom environment based on mutual respect and collaboration. She is committed to helping students identify and develop their own passions.

Mrinalini Shrivastava

Assistant Professor of Law

Mrinalini has done BBA, LL. B from New Law College, Pune and LLM from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, with Corporate Laws and Private International Law as subjects, in 2017. Previously, she was working as Law Research Associate in National Company Law Tribunal, New Delhi. She also has qualified UGC NET in Law. 

Shrishti Chaturvedi

Assistant Professor of Law

Ms. Srishti Chaturvedi has completed her graduation in B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) from National Law Institute University, Bhopal in 2016. Thereafter, she pursued her LL.M. from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar in 2017 with specialization in Constitution and Administrative Law. She has qualified UGC-NET in 2018. Before joining here, she has worked in Jagran Lakecity University Bhopal where she took classes both for the 5-year and 3-year UG law courses and then as a Teaching-Research-Assistant in National Law Institute University, Bhopal where she took classes for the LL.M. students, specifically for Human rights and Criminal Law specializations. She has several publications to her credit till now, mostly focusing on the area of Human Rights and has presented papers in several international and national conferences. She recently won the prize for second best paper in the International Conference organized by Amity University, Noida in collaboration with Adelaide University, Australia for her paper titled ‘Comparative Analysis of the Amendment Procedure for Indian and Australian Constitution’. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. from National Law Institute University Bhopal in the area of Constitution and Human Rights.

Swati Singh Parmar

Research-cum-Teaching Assistant

Ms. Swati Singh Parmar as a highly-motivated and hard work orientated law scholar, she has a proven track record of sound academics. She has been awarded ‘Gold Medal’ and ‘Excellence in knowledge creation -Award’ by Amity University, Uttar Pradesh for the performance during the LL.M. course. Her areas of interest include Public International law, International Human Rights, International Organisations, and Jurisprudence. She has published four book chapters and ten research articles in international research journals on issues relating to international law. She also has presented research articles at 21 national and nine international academic conferences. She is the member of the Advisory Board, Internationalism, a peer reviewed international journal in international law. She has been the member of editorial board of five reputed research journals.

Drishti Singh

Drishti Singh has completed her B.B.A LL.B(Hons.) and her LL.M (Constitutional Law) with Gold Medal from Amity University Rajasthan, Jaipur. She has joined this university as Research-Cum-teaching assistant.

Varsha Gumashta

Research-cum-Teaching Assistant

Ms. Varsha pursued her B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) from NUSRL, Ranchi and L.L.M. in Human Rights Law from Queen Mary University of London. Prior to joining this University she was working as the Chambers of Advocate Satish Maneshinde (Mumbai High Court). She has worked as a Project Coordinator at Virat Hospice of Cancer Patients, Jabalpur. She has also volunteered in various organizations based in London and has contributed in an organization by teaching in Hindi to British pupils. Her areas of interest are: Criminal Law, Family Law, Intellectual Property Rights and Human Rights. She has published and presented papers and has attended National and International Conferences, Workshops and Seminars. Ms. Varsha is the Faculty-in-charge of Cultural Committee and is contributing in teaching the subjects Sociology and Law and Social Transformations at DNLU.  

Areena Parveen Ansari

Research-cum-Teaching Assistant

Areena Ansari has pursued her BBA. LLB. (H.) Specialization in Corporate Law from University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun. She has also completed her LLM. in International Environmental Law from Amity University, Noida. She also has a work experience with Corporate Organization for more than 2 years. Throughout her working span, she has been involved in Contract Review and Research Review whereas she has the experience of direct client dealing, Research and Drafting of contracts with effective written and verbal communication.

Abhishek has completed B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) from National University of Study and Research in Law(NUSRL), Ranchi. He is also an alumnus of NALSAR University of Law, from where he completed his LL.M. Besides an active participent in seminars and conferences, he take immense interest in Sports activities too.
